Franchisor feedback

As an ex-franchisor myself, I recognise that being a Franchisor can sometimes be a lonely place.

Not all Franchisors have Franchise consultants on hand who understand their day to day challenges. Accountants are great business advisers when it comes to figures and general business matters – but let’s face it, most Franchisor headaches result from Franchisor / Franchisee relationships, and I don’t think Accountants usually have the answers to those sorts of issues.

I’m really interested to hear back from Franchisors about the day to day challenges you have in running your business. Let’s not have a whingeing session as this doesn’t help anybody!

But, if we can establish what the biggest problems Franchisors face in their daily lives, we can maybe develop some tools and strategies to assist.

These issues can include Franchise territories that just aren’t working. Franchisees complaining about royalty fees? The list goes on.

For many Franchisors a stagnant network can cause all sorts of problems. Discontented unmotivated franchisees who won’t sell and move on but who would prefer to  “stay with what they know”.

What can be done to change things?

Expansion is really a necessity in Franchising. It’s healthy to have new fresh ideas and people in the network. Sometimes easier said than done.

With the new disclosure laws, Franchisors need to remind themselves that  potential franchisees now have access to all franchisee details, both past and present. What are your franchisees going to say about your network???

Are they going to be advocates for the franchise? or are they going to ruin a sale? This is the reality.

It may be timely to get an outsider to take a long hard look at your business, and discover the truth!

Please leave a comment and share your challenges.
